How Cashless Works

What to bring, and what happens next.

Cashless treatment means your insurer settles the approved amount directly with the hospital, so you don't pay upfront and claim later.

  1. Bring your card and IDCarry your TPA or insurance card along with a government photo ID. For planned surgery, bring your policy documents as well.
  2. We verify your coverageOur front desk checks your policy status, what it covers for your procedure, and any waiting periods or sub-limits that apply.
  3. Pre-authorisation is raisedFor planned procedures such as cataract surgery, we submit a pre-authorisation request to your TPA or insurer and wait for approval before scheduling.
  4. You're told the numbers before you decideOnce approval comes through, we tell you exactly what is covered and what you will need to pay yourself — before treatment begins, not after.
  5. Treatment and direct settlementYou receive your treatment, and the approved amount is settled directly between the hospital and your insurer.

A few honest notes

Coverage is decided by your insurer and your specific policy, not by us. Waiting periods, room-rent limits, sub-limits on cataract surgery, and exclusions all vary between policies — two people with cards from the same company can have quite different coverage. Emergency cases are treated first and paperwork follows. If pre-authorisation is declined or partially approved, we will tell you exactly where you stand before proceeding.

Frequently Asked

Insurance questions patients ask us.

Yes, absolutely — you can be treated on a reimbursement basis instead. You pay the hospital directly, and we provide the complete documentation, bills and reports you need to claim from your insurer afterwards. Call us before your visit and we'll explain exactly what your insurer will require.

Cataract surgery is covered under most health insurance policies, though many apply a specific sub-limit on the amount payable and a waiting period from when the policy started. Bring your policy documents and our front desk will check both before anything is scheduled.

It varies by TPA and insurer, and it is their timeline rather than ours. For planned procedures we recommend starting the process several days ahead so your surgery date isn't held up. We'll tell you as soon as we hear back.

Emergency eye care is provided first and the paperwork follows. Bring your card when you can, or have a family member bring it — we will not delay urgent treatment for documentation.

Spectacles are excluded under almost all health insurance policies. Dental coverage varies considerably and many policies exclude routine dental work entirely. Our front desk will check your specific policy rather than guess.

Often yes, in part. Policies commonly include a co-payment, a deductible, room-rent limits, or items classed as non-medical consumables that are not payable. We tell you the exact figure you'll need to pay before treatment begins, so there are no surprises at discharge.
